Codex

App, CLI, and IDE extension

  1. Open a terminal

    Use the integrated Codex terminal or your system terminal. Codex CLI, the app, and the IDE extension on this machine share this configuration.

  2. Add the MCP server

    Run this command once. It registers Jewel Database as a Streamable HTTP server in your Codex configuration.

  3. Start OAuth sign-in

    This command opens your browser to link your Jewel Database account to Codex.

  4. Sign in and authorize Codex

    On the Jewel Database page, sign in if needed, review the requested permissions, then confirm. Your password is never sent to Codex.

  5. Verify the connection

    The jewelrydatabase server should appear as enabled. In the Codex interface, /mcp also displays the available servers.

Alternative from the Codex app

Open Settings → MCP servers → Add server. Choose Streamable HTTP, enter “jewelrydatabase” and https://jeweldatabase.com/mcp, then save, restart, and select Authenticate.

Claude

Claude web, Desktop, and mobile

  1. Open Claude connectors

    In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. The button below opens this page directly.

  2. Add a custom connector

    Select “+”, then “Add custom connector”. Name it “Jewel Database” and paste the MCP URL shown below.

  3. Leave advanced settings empty

    No manual Client ID or Client Secret is needed: the server supports dynamic registration and OAuth with PKCE.

  4. Add it and connect your account

    Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to Jewel Database, review the permissions, and authorize Claude.

  5. Enable it in a conversation

    In a Claude chat, open “+” → Connectors and enable Jewel Database. You can then request a search or review your quotas.

Team or Enterprise account

An Owner or Primary Owner must first add the connector from Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web. Each member can then connect their own account.
